As southern temps kicked in, my daughter and I spent time in the backyard playing "I-spy" with emerging creatures.  I was very surprised to be more challenged photographing a bee in flight than the mockingbirds sparring.

One day I will get THE classic picture of the bird flying in front of the moon.  I have a better appreciation for the patience and timing needed after photographing birds passing through our back yard.  It's a good exercise because you walk away understanding bird behavior just a bit more.

Dave Zimmerman's Memorial, 11.20.10

I was prompted to take pictures at my friend's memorial because that is exactly what he would have done. I did it more as a celebration of his life, and as it ends up, his wife and friends appreciated the photos a lot, too. A small action can move the spirit.

Gah!  Funky glare effect with Big Sam and DaPhessah.  They treated me to a jam right into my lens and I didn't reposition out of the sun quick enough.  Might have been too excited about the coolness of the moment with them.
